Meet the founder

Kelli is a licensed and board certified speech language pathologist with a passion for helping young communicators reach their full potential. She received a B.S. in Cognitive Science from UC Merced. After graduating she worked as a substitute teacher and instructional aide at a special education preschool in Chico, CA. During this time, she found her true passion for speech and language development and went on to receive a B.S. in Communication Disorders and Deaf Education and continued on to receive a M.S. in Speech Language Pathology locally at Cal State San Marcos.

Since beginning her career as a speech language pathologist, Kelli has worked with a wide range of individuals in both medical and educational settings.

Her pediatric experience comes from her years working in the public school system with children ranging from 3-12 years of age. During this time she helped many children and their families navigate the world of special education and provided intensive services in the areas of articulation, expressive/receptive language, pragmatics, AAC, fluency and voice. She worked closely with children in the special education day classes and developed a true passion for Autism and Gestalt Language Processing.

Kelli’s adult experience is in the area of post acute rehabilitation working in skilled nursing facilities across San Diego County. Her adult experience encompasses dysphagia, cognitive communicative disorders, aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria and voice disorders. She has extensive experience with stroke rehabilitation, dementia, traumatic brain injuries and neurological disorders.

In addition to owning and operating Carlsbad Speech Therapy Inc., Kelli currently provides supervision and mentorship to new speech therapists. When she is not working, she enjoys beach walks with her dog and traveling to new places with her fiancé! Kelli takes pride in providing services to her neighbors in Carlsbad, as well as the surrounding communities of North County, San Diego.
